My Response to Gates-Gate

The flap about the arrest of Prof. Gates got me to thinking.  We need to deal with these things proactively, and most of us are likely to meet our police inquisitors out on the highway, and not in our homes, so a bumpersticker would work.  I’ve been seeing those,”Thank a Cop” bumperstickers for years, and they always sorta chap my hide.  Since I’m an Arizonan now, and attitude is what this state’s all about, I came up with my own response to that bumpersticker, that that you can print on Office Depot bumpersticker material, Item #922-811.  If you’re stopped by a police officer, you don’t have to say anything.  Just point to the sticker, and preserve your Fifth Amendment right to silence, even as you assert your Fourth Amendment right to be “free to go.”
